Indian Summer Request

The Summer was crazy but now that the mornings are feeling colder and the kids have started school just today, August 30 . . .I'm hoping for a nice long Indian Summer so if someone knows that dance let me know.
Miss Lily was a doll all summer, even when she was tired and ready for bed, she was a doll! We rode bikes, walked to the pool, ate yummy food and got all of her sugar all summer long. I miss you!! Could someone do the cheaper flights dance which means you will also have to do the cheaper gasoline dance too!
My baby sister was in Boise for the summer, what a treat to have she and Lily with us for three months. We miss them terribly now they are back in Phili. We were protecting our eyes very well this summer:)

The Magnificent Earth

In the next life I want to be a bird. I'm never disappointed when I see the earth from the airplane window. . .it's amazing and majestic every time.
Just coming down on the Sierra Nevadas as we landed in Reno for a layover.
The Grand Canyon from the airplane window just after we
left Phoenix on my way home from San Diego.

The road to Coronado Island in San Diego. Lovely walk along the bay.

Always amazed by the beautiful ships, now mostly museums in the harbor.
Some of the yummiest fish tacos at Anthony's Grotto just up the street.
More of the walkway and the bay in San Diego.
It's always refreshing to see the sea!

La Flor by Laney

And we wonder where we get our creativity from? Thanks mom!

Tara and Sage's Softer Catalog Look

The mother daughter cooking team is simply amazing!

The "blue steel" apron pose, very retro . . .nice

La tigra. . .don't mess with this.

La tigrita, I love being her cooking assistant.

Dinner Dynamics

Just look at those eyes twinkle. Never a dull moment at dinner with these kids!

Somewhere along the way "Beef Taco" aka Cooper, got a bloody nose but
that didn't stop any of the fun.

This is what happens when the older brother, Berkley gets a creative inkling!

Tennis Scouts

Well, it was a heck of a day out on the courts today! We had heard the tennis scouts were around and we wanted to put our best foot-work forward. Here's the mother-daughter team. Nice form ladies, bent knees, raquets back and right leg lunging. Next!

Tara, what were you doing here? Were you
about to throw your raquet. . we don't do that. . only Todd does that.
Usually Tara is all over the cameras... today she was all business!

Very Serious. . .no autographs or kareoke today!

This hooded man-boy did not want his photo taken. He wouldn't tennis
it up for the scouts either:(
He was upset with his older brother and there was
no talking him into anything-least of all photos.
When, when will he show his face?
There were others, honing their skills, practicing
their serves, footwork. . .it was a lovely day on the courts.
Berkley making it look so easy. . .1. . .2. . .3
Where was that when you were playing against me?
BK is just back after a left elbow dislocation, however it didn't seem to bother him at all today!
Some of Sages best footwork too!!
Nice form.
Looking good Sage!

The football scouts were looking at this one!
Some of Oakley's best footwork, he's good at tennis but he loves football.

Again!
Again!
I think T and M are going to insure this foot. . .it's so valuable. I love you O.
The big "C" was not ready for a photo, still! He was upset!
The reason you can't see the ball in most of these shots is because
I was hitting it so hard and fast. . .hard to keep your eye on it.
No I wasn't dancing in that shot, I make it look so easy it
feels like dancing though. . ."you make me feel like dancin' goin to dance the night away."
The tennis scouts were looking at some of my best footwork.

Not sure how many rocks were in my back foot there, looks like I was dragging it a bit.
The follow thru is what counts--nice.

After tennis tryouts, Nana was helping Sager get her props ready for Activity Day Girls skit,
Sage was the lead roll and she played the opening song for everyone to sing. Woohoo.
Before we left the house, the big "C" was finally ready for a photo!
He's one of our top spellers right now, you might want to ask him about that.
The End

More of The Beav. . . .

This snow was not yellow! (Mike, Tara and Me)

Everyones lips were chapped at the end of the day.
Tracy relaxing with her bling in the lodge after calling it quits for the day!

Leave it to Clay to make some ice binoculars
The kids were waining but Tara wasn't. . .she was all smiles.

Starting to wind down.

Cooper doing his "falling leaf" impression--floating down the mountain

This next photo has to have a comment, because don't worry we did get one, one mind you, photo of Andrew. . .he is the guy way over to the right back by the tree. Thanks Andrew for being so photogenic! The rest of you, Clay, Berkley, Sage and Trac are looking very Hot. . .you too Andrew.
The reason this barefoot is hanging out was because Oakley said, "there is a bee in my boot, help me." He was almost in tears, okay he was in tears. . .upon closer inspection there was no bee but something pokey. He was back up in 5 seconds.

The "Beav"

Even Laney took a few runs!! Way to go!
Tara, Coop and Ky waiting for the lift.
Sage did so awesome. She was a natural!
Some things haven't changed. . ."sit this way"
The helmet is so hot on me isn't it? Coop learning how to use the brake.
Okay, so a few things have changed since I have been skiing 1) mostly everyone wears helmets now. I'm sure Tara was wishing they had "butt" helmets when she was trying her skill at snowboarding, she came to her senses and skiied on Saturday though;) 2) snowboarders can go on any runs and lifts they want, it's so amazing to see them move so gracefully down the mountain. . .and sometimes not.

Telese, Coop and Oakley regrouping and heading down the mountain.
Ky, thanks for being such a good guide on the "little beav"
Thanks Tracy for breaking up the Oompa Luumpas. Tara where is your helmet?
This is what the kids looked like before they were worn to a frazzle after skiing 2 days in a row.
This was the departure from Todd's home. He wants us to come back in the Spring for the house painting activity. Hmmm let me check my calendar, yep it's full!
